6 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

1 clove garlic, finely minced

1/4 cup red wine vinegar

1/2 head escarole, very thinly sliced

1/2 head romaine lettuce, very thinly sliced

2 cans (6-oz.) tuna (preferably packed in oil), drained

salt to taste

freshly ground black pepper to taste
