PITTSBURGH, Pa. – March 1, 2012 SHOP ‘n SAVE®, the independently owned and operated grocery chain with more than 70 stores in Western Pa., Ohio and West Virginia, announced today its annual free Sugardale® ham promotion will begin in participating stores on March 1.

"SHOP 'n SAVE is excited to again offer our most loyal customers a special treat for the Easter holiday," said Rich Haeflein, advertising manager, SUPERVALU, which supplies the independently owned and operated SHOP 'n SAVE stores. "The free Sugardale ham promotion demonstrates our continued effort to provide the value and savings our customers have come to expect from SHOP 'n SAVE."

In order to be eligible for the free ham, customers must use their SHOP 'n SAVE Perks Card and spend $250 from March 1 until March 28 to receive a free Sugardale Semi-Boneless half ham. Perks Card users who spend $450 or more will receive a free Sugardale Semi- Boneless whole ham.

Shoppers will be able to track their progress towards their free ham with their Perks Card online, or on their mobile phone by texting "HAMS" to 467467 through SHOP 'n SAVE's mobile club. Beginning March 29 through April 8, shoppers will be able to redeem their free ham, if they have reached the $250 or $450 sales level, by presenting their Perks Card during purchase.
