PITTSBURGH – April 1, 2011 – Out of entries from more than 70 SHOP ‘n SAVE stores, Jeanne Kronket of Latrobe, Pa. was randomly chosen as the winner of the 2011 SHOP ‘n SAVE American Idol Fly Away Contest. The award was presented on April 1 at 11 a.m. at the Route 30 SHOP ‘n SAVE located in Latrobe.
Kronket, a frequent SHOP ‘n SAVE customer and feverish American Idol fan, will receive roundtrip airfare from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles as well as hotel accommodations for three nights. She and a guest will travel to Studio City in Hollywood for two live tapings of American Idol.
“This is the sixth year that we have held the American Idol Fly Away Contest,” said Rich Haeflein, advertising manager of SUPERVALU which supplies the independently owned and operated SHOP ‘n SAVE stores. “This promotion is an exciting chance for our loyal SHOP ‘n SAVE shoppers to be rewarded with a great prize.”
Kronket was presented with trip vouchers and an over-sized American Idol prize certificate today during a special event at the Latrobe SHOP 'n SAVE. Independent owners, Craig and Lisa Morella, have operated the Route 30 SHOP 'n SAVE location for more than four years but it was the first year their store had the winning shopper.
“We are excited that the winner came from our store,” said Craig Morella, owner. “The American Idol Fly Away Contest is always an exciting promotion, and we are honored to have the award ceremony take place at our store.”
